Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the IAJ website. On some page(s) of this site, individuals can register for IAJ seminars and/or other events, purchase things like raffle tickets, or make a financial donation to the association; on other page(s) identifying information about IAJ members’ law practice are displayed in a “Public Directory.” The types of personal information collected and (in some cases) displayed at these pages are:
The Way We Use Information:
We use the information that individuals provide about themselves when registering for events, when purchasing things, or when making financial donations, in order to complete and process those registrations, purchases and/or donations. We do not share this information with outside parties.
The information displayed about IAJ members in the “Public Directory” can be viewed by anyone who visits this website and accesses the directory. Members have the option of enhancing the information in this directory about themselves and their law practices, at their own discretion and initiative. Any member can be removed from the “Public Directory” altogether by sending an email to email@example.com with the subject line: “Remove Me From the Public Directory.”
We use identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with current or prospective advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Refund / Return Policy
Seminar registration cancellations are accepted a week or more prior to the seminar start date, and are subject to an administrative fee of between $25-$50, depending on the seminar. Requests for cancellations cannot be honored within a week of the seminar, but materials will be mailed or a substitute may attend in the registrant’s place, so long as the substitute is eligible for the seminar and rate.
IAJ publications may be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, so long as the publication has not been damaged or marked up.
Dues payments and contributions to the Iowa Association for Justice, the Justice For All PAC, or the Iowa Foundation for Justice are not refundable in any way unless the member or donor can demonstrate that the dues or contribution was given by mistake.
Our Commitment To Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the Internet.
Our Commitment To Children's Privacy:
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under the age of 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.
