IAJ Justice In Deed
In 2008, IAJ launched its Justice In Deed initiative which links Iowa trial attorneys with community organizations to help meet critical needs. Over the years our members have joined together to build homes with Habitat for Humanity, help flood and tornado victims in Cedar Rapids and Mapleton and help clothe disadvantaged schoolchildren during the cold winter months.
Our current campaign will support for the GirlPower Summer Intensive Training Program
Chrysalis does not just teach girls, we build the next generation of leaders. Since 2012, Chrysalis has led the GirlPower Program, an initiative to prevent relational violence through prevention. GirlPower’s highly successful model employs high school students to develop and deliver curriculum to younger girls in Chrysalis After-School programs. High School Mentors have expressed need for more information to better connect tenets of health relationship education with social movements like “#metoo” and “#Black Lives Matter.” Chrysalis needs to raise $3,000 to cover expenses related to a 10-week intensive training program to meet those needs and invest in 15 GirlPower Peer Mentors who will serve as the 2021-2022 class of leaders for 800+ 5th-8th grade Chrysalis After-School program participants.
We are grateful for your generosity and assure you it will be put to good use.
